  • SIPp is a good test tool that you can use to test the Open IMS Core

  • The BEA Weblogic Server is available for download with an evaluation license to develop converged HTTP/SIP servlets.
  • The Project Sailfin adds a SIP Servlet technology extension to the GlassFish Application Server.
  • For those of you who aren't afraid to get in touch with JAIN SLEE, Mobicents also brings SIP and Diameter resourcee adpters

  While the IMS specs are somewhat not really easy to read and follow, there are also some places where you can get more information on how IMS works
  • The classic (or the "yellow book") - The 3G IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS): Merging the Internet and the Cellular Worlds (Second Edition) by Gonzalo Camarillo & Miguel-Angel García-Martín
  • Also very much worth reading is "the red book"- The IMS: IP Multimedia Concepts and Services by Miikka Poikselka Aki Niemi, Hisham Khartabil & Georg Mayer
  • And to complete the color confusion there is one book (aka. the "green book") from Ericsson employees - The IMS Multimedia Telephony over Cellular Systems: VoIP Evolution in a Converged Telecommunication World by Shyam Chakraborty, Janne Peisa, Tomas Frankkila and Per Synnergren
  • Also recommended in a mailing list post was The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS): Session Control and Other Network Operations by Travis Russell from Tekelec
  • One community member suggested in a mail a whitepaper published by Devoteam which is vendor-neutral written and embraces very good all the aspects of IMS services and Service Delivery Platforms
